Circularity in the construction and demolition industry: Comparing weighting methods for multi-criteria decision analysis

In studying circularity in the construction and demolition industry (CDI) EU, five projects selected EU countries were compared to assess how application of achieved balance environment, social economic dimensions sustainability. The using secondary data based on a web search these involved different stages ladder, used diverse design principles, focused life cycle, making them interesting comparators for applying CDI. For strong sustainability exist, there should be between triptych covering which is often overlooked many circular with an overemphasis one dimension disregard another. Selected indicators three included those found environmental impact cycle assessments criteria, criteria feasibility, project appraisal evaluation reports criteria. weighting several methods exist comprising subjective, objective, integrated techniques. robustness objective vs. subjective weights rather debatable. research test techniques determine if differences rankings terms balance. ranking conclusions about best practices CDI economy could influenced by used. As influence outcomes, objectivity advised. However, this study, computational comparisons indicated that do not significantly differ from ones use mathematical statistical rigor. such, still conveniently capture credible consistent results. Nonetheless, detract efforts objectify lend more credence justification scoring
